RTA office Kakinada – A Change.


RTA Office  is now working with caution , now the AC office has started opening windows for services for public.

That is with the raid of ACB, now the officials and staff are alert with the  recent raid by ACB on the RTA Agents in RTO office.
The staff are serving public though windows, where as the computers  are on the opposite side of the window, Staff take care that the staff will get neck problem with wrong ergonomics in work.

Taking  health risk, is it needed ?

 It is better to open the door and work in the proper way , avoiding agents and commission from these  agents.

Which is better health or illegal money?

Work for the people, government is paying good salary.

East Godavari District Collector, Ravi Chandra celebrated his 39th birthday on August 19 - 2011 in a novel way, he donated blood, later donated bread and fruits to patients in GGH.
Ravi Chandra has paved a good path for many of us, generally many of us will have a gala celebrations and we will not venture to be hospital on the day.

But, Collector is a man with life, and he has set example for many. Let every eligible blood donors, will donate blood every 3 months or at least 6 months period regularly.

Lorry Owners Association on strike  - Lorries will be off the Road
The lorry owners are going on truck strike, from mid night of 18 August, that is if the strike is on there will not be lorries on roads from 19 August, it will be an indefinite strike call.

The owners association are so strong ,they made it clear if Essential Service Maintenance Act (ESMA) act is imposed also, they will not care for it, and they will go ahead with the strike call.

The main Reasons for the Srike as per Lorry owners associations are
1.     Hike it Toll gate charges
2.     Diesel rate are hiked regularly  with international market flick.
3.     Increase  of third party insurance to 64 percent
4.     Tyes are costly , anti dumping duty is also imposed on lorry owners.
Onion and potato will be costly, other commodities like oil, wheat, rice, essential commodities will be out of reach and the prices will be touching the sky.
If this is the situation, the coming festivals will be very difficult.

Andhra , Kerala, Tamil nadu, Pondicherry Lorry associations are in the Strike as of now.

Again stray dogs are back, on 17 August, a stray dog has attacked Murali from I. Polavaram village , and later it attacked a couple – Ravi kumar and swathi of Godavarigunta area, they visited the GGH – Government General Hospital on a personal work, as they got down the bike the stray dog in GGH attacked Swathi and to help swathi here husband came to rescue, but the dog attacked Ravi kumar too. The couple were admitted to GGH and emergency medical aid was provided.
What a fate, people of Kakinada, have no guarantee safely returning home, as these stray dogs are large in number in Kakinada. Who will take responsible for these stray dog attacks, the Municipality, District Administration, Health department or the Animal protection Activists.
The animal protection Activities they shout slogans against people hurting dogs and say dogs should be protected.

Better Kakinada always asks, if these dogs attack so, called Animal lovers or their children they will know, the pain. But, it is not much possible they always travel in Cars, where as the common man will be walking or on bikes, they are more venerable for stray dog attack.
It is high time, District officials please protect Human beings too.

Stress on Prevention of Damage to Public Property



The East Godavari Collector Ravi Chandra, has directed the Deputy Transport Commissioner to take care of  Prevention of Damage to Public Property (PDPP) act 1984, in which mostly Tractors with ploughing equipments and wheels are moving in roads, which is illegal , as per law these tractors should plough in the field and when they venture on a road, the tractors should be fixed with tyre, no ploughing equipment should be used on roads, but , most of the tractor owners are violating these rules in rural areas , as a result many roads are being damaged.

Better Kakinada urges Farmers and Farm equipment owners to be responsible , that they should damage roads.

ACB has conducted lightning ride on Agents who were in RTO office on 17 , Augusts , 2011, at around 4 pm, ACB officials enter RTO office and closed doors, and started checking every one  in the RTO , office and they found, many agent are in the RTO office at that time,  apart from the staff and people who came for RTO office work, the ACB officials made enquires  till late 9.30 P M, the ACB caught 37 RTO agents and they seized around 2.20 Lakhs from these agents.

This is a common site in the RTO officials , there are mushroom RTO agents around RTO office, they do any type of work from Licenses, Fitness, registrations etc. they take challans, pay DD , submit forms  etc. only thing the applicant has to do is sign the blank relevant forms and pay the fee for the nature of job in RTO , plus the agents commission, out of which goes as a share to the staff in the RTO office, this is a open secret.

See the fate of India, to get a work done you have to pay an extra amount, in a democratic county.

If one try’s to get work done directly without an agent you will be asked to visit office number of times and you have to run pillar to post. Keeping this headache in mind, many approach a agent, who does the work done, here apart from the agents commission, we are encouraging corruption, as a share of the money what we give as excess in the name of service charge goes to a RTO staff.
The ACB has requested Citizens of East Godavari District to

call 94404 46160 and inform about any irregularities or corruption in any Government Department , including RTA office, the name of the caller will be kept secret. So, next time if you find any corruption, call this number. Now itself store this number in your cell phone book.
Are we not encouraging corruption?
Let us try to get our work, done with out corruption, and with out paying not a single paisa more then the Government fixed fee.

You will be shocked to see the original rates fixed by the department, and what you pay the RTA agent.

To get your Learning license the Government fixed fee is Rs 60 but, an agent charge you above Rs. 300
For a Driving license the Government fixed fee is Rs 390, but, an agent charges around Rs. 900  to Rs. 1000
For International license the Government fixed fee is Rs. 650, but, an agent charges you around Rs 1500 to Rs 2000 or even more as per your urgency.
For a Duplicate Registration the Government fixed fee is Rs 110 to Rs 300, but, an agent charges you above  Rs 600/-
For Fitness Certificate for 4 wheeler SUV Taxi cars is Government fixed fee is 550/- but, an agent charges Rs 800/-

Many more services are being charged very high, then that of Government fixed fee.
So, next time when you have a work in a RTO office. You can approach the RTO office counter and get your work done, you work may be delayed, encourage your friends and your neighbors to get work done directly. This will become a system and there will be no corruption.
Let us be patient enough to get the outcome of the process, better your get your renewals of licenses, fitness certificates etc. done bit early , before the due date, so, that if you renewed document comes little late also no worry.
