Leakage in drinking water pipeline that remains unattended for many years had resulted in wastage of many lakh litre of water
Water pipes are laid just 3 years back as part of Smart city project, these pipe laid under the Roads , as part of smart city plans has started leaking at many places, where as the pipes laid by British Raj and Victory water works are strong and safe.
This shows low quality work of Contractors and inefficient supervision of KMC and Smart City Officials, in many cases the work is entrusted to Contractor staff who may be or many not skilled and the work is closed and bills passed.
Within few days these low quality works gives leaks and there will not be any accountability or responsibility , leaving water to waste in Gallons. Government or officials will not take up responsibility of getting the issue fixed up at the cost of contractor, in many cases new tenders are called to fix it up.
Leaving many gallons of water wasted in the mean time,
The main deliver water line form Sasikanth nagar water pump station of KMC started leaking with in months of erectiion , under this smart city road from RTO office to vakalapudi is laid , and leak started, KMC and Smart city works have done a maintenance by digging the road and they filled It up, with in few days again second leak has erupted and water is wasted daily during water pumping, as this the main line , gallons of water is wasted and the residents suffer a lot due to no pressure due to spillage in water under ground, resulting in Road damage and wastage of Drinking water,
Again for the second time KMC has digged this road and they are still in the process of fixing it, it has been months it is digged and a part of Road is blocked on RTO road to Vakalapudi.
There is another leakage at Laxmi nagar near laxmi hospital, Ambedkar statue junction, when water is pumped water is leaked all over and it is projected on to Cement road leading to Dairy farm centre,
Water is lost through leaks and cracks in pipes and their fittings. Since most infrastructure is underground, it is virtually impossible to visually determine the location of these leaks unless the water has reached the surface (causing ponding and sink holes, structural damage, buckling pavement, etc.),
There are the two major visible leaks of Drinking water from main line, now see this public are doubting that there many be many such small and big leakage in the under ground pipe line of Drinking water’
Due to these errors and delay in fixing it, many gallons of water is wasted and public money is wasted in the process of supply of drinking water and a lot of public money is wasted for continuous repairs and digging of roads , and more over leaving roads un attended with dump and digs.
As a result of this public are missing pressure of water, wastage of money, and now added KMC will not be able to supply dirking water in coming summer months.
Previous experiences of KMC’s In ability to supply drinking water in summer months due to lack of planning is very evident and public are afraid of this, as the population of city is increased and KMC has allotted more number of taps as SMART City project, but , public have a fear , is KMC equipped with back end pumping and storage systems for safe drinking water.
If main pipe leaks and arrested with proper planning water is stored in storage beds and tanks , easily municipal authorities can supply water, but, when the peak shortage starts, municipal water staff run from pillar to post
