What are the benefits of Blood Donation ?

How much blood is taken at blood donation ?
Appx. 400-450 ml is taken at blood donations, which is appx 1/11th of blood in your body. Your blood is replaced with fresh blood within next 48 hours.

Is there any ill effects of blood donation ?
No. Before all blood donations your health checkup is done to determine if you can donate blood. You can donate blood every three months.

How long does take ?
It hardly takes 45-60 mins for donation. After that you can go back to work or any other routine activities provided you are not advised otherwise by supervisors.

Is blood donation safe ?
Donating blood is a safe process. Needles and bags used to collect blood are used only once and then discarded, making spread of infection to the donor not possible.

I was denied previously. Can I donate now ?
Most of the reasons for denying blood donation are temporary like low iron count. If you are found fit after checkup, you'll be allowed to donate blood. It's advisable to maintain good health by balanced diet if you want to be a regular blood donator.

How often can I donate blood ?
An average person can donate blood in every two months but to assure safety a three months gap is advised and followed in India.

you are above 18 years &
you are not taking any medication &
you are not pregnant &

Arvind Kejriwal - RTI - Right to Information Cursader

                Arvind Kejriwal  (born: 1968)  a  graduated from IIT Kharagpur as a Mechanical engineer in 1989. Later, he joined the Indian Revenue Service (IRS) in 1992, and was posted at the Income-tax Commissioner's Office in Delhi.

He is on a noble  crusader on RTI ( Right to Information ) that is  transparency in Government., he is also a social Activist,

He was awarded Ramon Magsaysay Award for Emergent Leadership in 2006.

On February 6, 2007, Arvind Kejriwal  was named CNN-IBN 'Indian of the Year' in Public Service for the year 2006.

Lokpal Bill Silent Features

1.         An institution called LOKPAL in the centre and LOKAYUKTA in each state will be set up. These institutions will completely independent of the governments, just like the Supreme Court and the Election Commission. No minister can influence their investigations.

2.         Investigation in any case will have to be completed in one year. Trial should be completed in next one year so that the corrupt officer, or politician goes to jail in two years max.

3.         The loss that a corrupt person caused to the government will be recovered at the time of conviction.

4.         If any work of any citizen is not done in prescribed time in any government office, Lokpal will impose financial penalty on guilty officers, which will be given as compensation to the complainant. So, you could approach Lokpal if your ration card or passport or voter card is not being made or if police is not registering your case or any other work is not being done in prescribed time. Lokpal will have to get it done in a month’s time.

5.         Election of Lokpal officials – What if government appoint corrupt and weak people as Lokpal members? That won’t be possible because its members will be selected by judges, citizens and constitutional authorities and not by politicians, through a completely transparent and participatory process.

6.         What if some officer in Lokpal becomes corrupt? The entire functioning of Lokpal/ Lokayukta will be completely transparent. Any complaint against any officer of Lokpal shall be investigated and the officer dismissed within two months.

7.         What will happen to existing anti-corruption agencies? CVC, departmental vigilance and anti-corruption branch of CBI will be merged into Lokpal. Lokpal will have complete powers and machinery to independently investigate and prosecute any officer, judge or politician.

8.         The punishment would be minimum 5 years and maximum of life imprisonment.

Who is SHANTI BHUSHAN

SHANTI BHUSHAN ( 85 Years) an eminent lawyer,  he was also a  former law minister , He was  the key instrument of the  Jan Lokpal Bill. He drafted the bill and  the  Bill was introduced  in Parliament for approval in 1977, As the law minister in the Morarji Desai government, but it was not accepted , in the mean time the  Janata Party government collapsed.

  

He had represented Raj Narain in the case against then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and won, which  led to the imposition of Emergency in India after a long sequence of  this event.

From 1977 till date this bill is not accepted and the bill is rejected with some excuses or the other.

Now Anna Hazara is fighting for the Cause.

Anna Hazare, a Gandhian, An ex-army Jawan, who  Fought 1965 Indo-Pak War, He has built a village called Ralegaon Siddhi in Ahamad Nagar district, Maharashtra, which is a self-sustained model village. Energy is produced in the village itself from solar power, bio-fuel and wind mills. In the 1975, it used to be a poverty clad village. Now it is one of the richest village in India. It has become a model for self-sustained, Eco-friendly & harmonic village.

Anna Hazare was awarded Padma Bhushan and is a known figure for his social activities.

Today he is fighting for the amendment of a law to curb corruption in India., He is advocating for a Bill, The Jan Lokpal Bill (The Citizen Ombudsman Bill), that will form an autonomous authority who will make politicians (ministers), bureaucrats (IAS/IPS) accountable for their deeds.

Way back in 1972, the bill was proposed by the then Law minister Mr. Shanti Bhushan. Since then it has been neglected by the politicians showing some excuse or some omission.

His main demand is very reasonable :

Anna is asking for is: the government should come forward and announce that the bill is going to be passed.

Next, they make a joint committee to DRAFT the JAN LOKPAL BILL. 50% government participation and 50% public participation. Because one  cant trust the government entirely for making such a bill which does not suit them.

Out come of the Lokpal Bill

A LokPal will be appointed at the centre. This officer  will have an autonomous charge, just  like the Election Commission of India. In all the states, Lokayukta will be appointed.

The job is to bring all alleged party to trial in case of corruptions within 1 year. Within 2 years, the guilty will be punished.

This is a fast track trail and punishment of the guilty, Not like that of the cases and scams which we are hearing for years and the culprits in many cases left India, few died, few are absconding in few cases evidences are manipulated etc ., we are aware of such cases like  Bofors scam or Bhopal Gas Tragedy case, that has been going for last 25 years without any result.

All un corrupt Indians, people who love India, people who are for better India, people who are for poverty free India  are supporting Anna for the Cause. Add to all Indians prominent personalities like  Aamir Khan, Kiran Bedi, Baba Ramdev, Swami Agnivesh, RTI activist Arvind Kejriwal and many more.

Next time when you go to a Mucipal office , Government office, Government Hospital , MRO office, RDO office, VDO office, Panchayat office , Police Dept, Passport Verification etc. never give money to get your work done on a fast track, your work will be done , don’t worry, public servants are there to serve you.

Once every India stops bribing , the work in Government offices will be done in a process , your file and your neighbors file will be moved fast as there are no bribe giving Indians, the work will work in its process.

You may think, if I don’t bribe , my neighbor will bribe, and he will get the work done fast,

If you don’t bribe , your neighbor too will not bribe, both your work will be done in the first come first serve process.
